WarTracker — Privacy Policy

Overview

WarTracker is a real-time open-source intelligence monitoring application for active conflict zones. We are committed to transparency about the limited data we collect.

Data We Collect

• Device identifier (Android ID) — A pseudonymous identifier used solely to register your device for push notifications. It is not linked to your name, email, or any personal account.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token — Used to deliver push notifications about significant conflict events and escalation alerts.
• Firebase Analytics — Google’s Firebase SDK automatically collects anonymous usage data such as app opens, device model, and OS version. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
• We do not collect location data from your device.
• We do not require account creation or login.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or files.

How We Use Your Data

The device identifier and FCM token are stored on our server exclusively to deliver push notifications. Analytics data is used to understand general usage patterns and improve the app.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google under their privacy policy.

Data Retention

Device tokens are retained as long as they remain active. If a token becomes invalid (e.g. you uninstall the app), it is automatically removed.

Security

All communication between the app and our servers uses TLS encryption. Server infrastructure is hosted on dedicated virtual servers with restricted access.

Children

WarTracker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
